Learning family traditions is always important and having my grandmother down for a week was a good opportunity to learn a few more. At much as it sounds trivial, learning to cook gnocchi is a big deal in our family and so I got my grandmother to teach me and I documented it all the way. I have cooked it before but its the secrets and tips learnt from years of experience that are the ways of making a meal good to great. And as nonna is 82 years old I know deep down that my time with her is limited so I savour every moment. It was a great afternoon and great to spend quality time with her. I decided to do a photo documentary of the whole process and below are a few snippets. All I can say is the oldies are a wealth of knowledge and inspiration. Yes there values and opinions will differ from ours but family is family and they have been through hell and back. Yesterday was an amazing day and I wouldnt swap it for anything.
cheers
p.s. for the photo people i shot this with an old 28mm 2.8 olympus lens to give it a different feel.
