After 4 years I was able to catch up with an old friend who I met in Ireland, but was from Canada who is now in Perth and came over to Victoria to catch up tongue I havent got many friends left down here as after four years of travelling the old ones have gotten married, pushed out children and would rather discuss the cost of housing rates than heading down the local for a brew and a yarn. Given that we havent spoken much I was apprehensive about seeing her again but within two minutes it was as if nothing had changed. It was four days of drinking, sightseeing, catching up on gossip and all round good energy.

It really got me wondering where I can find more people like her. People full of energy and enthusiasm and whom you can be you true self without the fear of judgement or ridicule. I want smart positive people around me and I feel when they are near me i can achieve anything.

Is it wrong to cull negative friends or friends whom you have little in common with anymore?. If you can cull sentimental material objects that may stop you from growing up or moving on from the past then is it then possible to extend this "spring cleaning" concept to friendships? There is history and memories but what if there is no future? Jesus id love some answers right about now......

I like your style. I personally have very little 'in common' with most of my friends and loved ones, but it's those few traits of 'smart, positive, good energy..when they are near me I can achieve anything' that are the crucial ones for me. I've culled lots of people who I have lots in common with, but were downers and/or judgmental or had tunnel-vision. Whilst I believe in longevity of relationships and loyalty, you can tell when a relationship has passed it's used-by date.

Anyway, thanks for the ad biggrin
