She basically made it clear that my feelings are, and will always remain, unrequited. She knew how I'd felt, and secretly hoped I'd just let it fade. Such is my luck with the opposite sex - they tend to just hope I'll go away, eventually. ; )
She did say that, in the end, she's glad I admitted to her exactly how I felt. That she understood my position, and how keeping your feelings a secret can "cripple you with what-ifs", in her words. Really, that's all I wanted - for her to hear, and understand.
