Grateful for this-Day! NOW let us require those in D.C. to represent the US of the U.S. of A.
Grateful for this day!

Many new things come to us this day, the first day after the 'popular' vote for the president and vice-president of the United States of America. I am grateful.

64% of those 'registered' to vote in America voted in and for this November 4, 2008 election. This is the highest in 100years. This is sad, but I am still grateful. France thinks it merely okay, as does most of the rest of the world where free elections are held, if 70% of their registered voters vote. Of course America is one of the few places that a citizen must also register to vote, rather than be registered by virtue of being a citizen. Go figure. Oh yes, as the saying goes, 'Figures don't lie; liars figure.'

I am also grateful that many incumbents were voted out of the Senate and House of Representatives, allowing room for new people that have the potential to actually represent the people that voted them into office. If they only do what those have done for the most part before them, they too need to swiftly be voted out of office. Both Houses in D.C. need to be made to be responsible to US in the U.S. of A.

How?

1. The electorate, this means US in America, need to pay attention to how and what the Senate and the House are working on, and also pay attention to what and how the President, President Obama as long as the Electoral College votes the same way December 15, 2008, responds to the bills that are sent to him from them.

The electorate, we need to require that those that represent the people in Washington make it illegal for any and all monies and gifts of any sort from Lobbyists.

The electorate, We the People, need to require that those in Washington work more than six months out of the year, and then campaign and or vacation for the balance.

Require that no one that is elected for any branch of the government is 'ever' able to work for any lobby group for pay and or gifts during or after their term in office.

Require that any and all earmarks, those items added to bills after they're voted on by both Houses and then sent to the President, be made un-Constitutional, another words a bill passed by the House and the Senate goes to the President the same way that it was voted, without any additional ear-mark spending or other added issues after these votes.

Require the immediate suspension from office of anyone demonstrated to receive any money and or gift from any lobbyist, lobby group or any other special interest group.

No tax increase or decrease that all both Houses and the Presidential team is able to circumvent.

No increase in pay, benefits or other positive issues to any elected Washington office-holder or their staff until the rest of America has equal health insurance and benefits. If this means a decrease in wages and or benefits to those in Washington, that's the way it goes, until all of American is at least on a basic beginning minimum line in these areas.

Remember: The Republican controlled Houses and White House did not represent the people well over the past 6 of 8 years, and the Democractic controlled Houses of the past 2 years did not do any better, not a scratch on a legal pad. If this newly elected Democratic majority in both the House and the Senate do these things then they will have the right to earn to be trusted by those that have elected them into their offices. It took both of these parties to lead us down the war torn efforts they are leaving the new White House, potential, administration, and it took both of them to sell out our offspring's inheritance in order to bail out select financial institutions that also bought and paid for all of their campaigns over the years. Don't be surprised when, not if, there's another bailout or whatever euphemism they spin it. Then, of course, both parties will blame the other for whatever they don't want the responsibility. Abusers, they are.

If not, then it will be the same old D.C. Club of the elite politicians looking out for their own behinds, and kicking the rest of ours. It is our job as Americans to hold these representatives responsible for the offices that we've elected them. If we don't then we are no less complicit than those that have bought and paid for their elections.

America if seen through a prism can be Beautiful!

timothy

PS.

Now just think if the same percentage of voters that voted for the fake election for presidency (since it is the electoral, partisan college that actually does it Constitutionally), - would care as much for the children via most of the school issues that failed across the country, or the MRDD issues that failed across the same beloved land, as well as the failed Library bond issues, then since these are the votes that are actually counted one person = as one vote - we could applaud our American voters for caring about real face to face people.

Good job, Americans that voted (64%!) Please keep it up!

timothy

tita:
I really want to congratulate every American I meet on the incredible thing that has just happened. What does it matter how it compares to other countries? We have all witnessed the beginning of something very important. Exciting, isn't it?
