'lingering taste' timothy r gates 9/19/2008 (inspired by another's inspiration)
the lingering
taste
pastes upon my mustache, chin
whiskers too
what i never
desire
to wash away
what makes me ever
smile
where others,
who don't know better,
ask me,
'why the smile?'
i chuckle
whisper,
'if you dare to hear,
i intentionally didn't wash
her
off
this
morning.'
(here, my smile enlarges)
'guileless' timothy r gates, 9/20/2008
guile
guiless, antiquated
aberrant
anarchist
pretense of uniqueness
mary comes not as deity
her cries turned
her questions affirmed
her guilessness
casts a shadow
no cool air brushes from her sway
she tell us,
all,
the same,
'my yes is mine, yours is yours;
say no if you will,
find your anarchy has been done.'
guiless,
now this would be true anarchical
smiles.

You're quite the poet! One of these days I'll get some of my poems up here too. "Lingering Taste" is my fav here... so true in it's content and great flow, and definitely going to leave a lingering smile on my face today!
