Hatred in my own heart
guilt for what I should have done
guilt for what I could have done
shame for what I didn't do,
still don't do,
still do.
WAR?
The President's fault?
Congress's fault, or Senate's fault?
Their fault?
Our fault?
Who is at fault?
WAR?
Hatred in my own heart
I choose to call my neighbor my enemy
I choose to allow others to tell me that the they are my enemies
I choose to place my heart and brain on the shelf
lovers of war instruct me to do war
WAR?

just
collateral damage
love of country
patriotism
heroism
...euphemisms to engender a love of killing,
but by other names,
fueling, allowing
our own heart's hatred, yes,
to be
justified.
Then, we blame them.
