'act, react'* timothy r gates, 1/17/2006
act, react
may i, please
i promise to say,
'thank you.'
you prefer silence?
I can do that too -
well, for a bit
so,
take my hand
purgatorial flames, yes
divine comedy, yes
in my mind, splendid
in your mind --
that's your problem
act, react
take my hand,
yours are moist too
i truly don't give a damn why;
nonetheless,
thank you --
for acting, reacting
and, for moist hands too.
*extemporaneous, from poetry reading 1/16/2008(with formal pieces read as well); this was after assisting another 'shy' poet/songwriter (primarily this) to the stand, with humorous acting, reacting.
'dyslexic lover?'* timothy r gates, 1/17/2008
ever hear,
'oh, god!'
then respond,
'oh, thank you god!?'
ever make love
to a
verbal dyslexic?
Me neither.
But I have thought of,
what it might sound like
......
'ho, sealp oooo'
(the last vowels connected sound is the same,
either way, 'oooo')
then, with delight,
they cry out,
'kcuf em! Kcuf em!'
this i learned to love,
after hearing it for the first time.
(only folks that don't like it,
are those that don't get it;
and haven't heard in a 'normal' fashion)
ever pray,
'oh god,'
only to realize that
you're by yourself?
A dyslexic lover,
in the other room,
cries out,
'oh dog!'
and you think to yourself,
'ho, kcuf?'
because this time you didn't
get it either.
