'myths and legends' timothy r g, 11/19/2007
Myths and legends,
words,
stories,
ours, theirs, someone's;
hyperboles, similes, metaphors,
symbols called letters,
icons of ancients made present;
aphorisms,
clichs, not necessarily underhanded platitudes:
kiss,
smack,
hit,
hug,
stroke,
caress,
touch;
words are expressed
with them, or without them,
the lie of, 'I love you,'
followed by a detached grimace,
not seen,
but felt,
just like if it had been a
kiss,
smack,
hit,
hug,
stroke,
caress,
touch;
make love not war,
love-making,
falling in love, or out of love,
baptized by
the moisture of one pressed against another,
here I readily
turn the other cheek;
our stories are told,
heard,
ignored,
never inconsequential,
each an icon into another's story,
the beauty of
myths and legends.
