'I happen to be Autistic; what's your problem?' ** timothy r g, 07/12/2007
my little friend, now four,
wears her button proudly.
her attention is always somewhere,
never nowhere
the nowhere man speaks,
sings, talks and talks,
but says nothing,
never listens,
missing ears to hear;
my little friend, now four,
kisses and hugs me,
by choice,
then attends to the next somewhere;
she stops on her way out the door,
and says, saying my name first,
'bye,' waving her hands.
a nowhere person makes an observation,
whispering,
'they're so cute.'
** This little friend is a real and true friend that I have been gifted.
My understanding is that there is going to be a 'walk of Autism' in Cleveland, Ohio in the coming months. I'll post details when I know them. Sad, the AMA still refuses to acknowledge Autism as a medical issue. They still claim that it is a learning developmental issue. This keeps treatment for most way outside of doing anything save bankrupting families who live through this difference daily.
