Happy Presidents' Day!
Will there be a Queen Esther, a Queen/King Deborah, once for the Nation of Israel, Prime Minister Gandhi as in India, or M Thatcher was in Brittan? In a post-feminist America as well as in many places in the world too, is there truly a belief amongst both women and men that women are sufficient rulers and or leaders of nations? How is it that with few exceptions woment do not choose war as an option between nations but men do so in most conflicts? Yet when women do go to war as leaders they are most often akin to Mary the once Queen of Scots, Bloody Mary for good reasons. Post-Feminism should, I believe in my never humble opinion, be an affirmation as well as embraced lived-out affirmation of the everything that women have been, are and may yet become. Where are the voices today when we go to the voting ballot? It doesn't count in rhetoric, support or counterwise, it only counts in action and practice. Personally I do not trust 99% of leaders in any sphere other than a family where the balance is most often right in your face save for abusive families. When it comes to this issue it still seem clear that most of the world is still akin to co-dependant abused spouses, partners and families, always saying that things are going to change but when the police get there you simply refuse to let them take the abuser. It is time for a Queen Mary, not the cartoonish sort though, akin to the Theotokos, Mother of God, someone with the courage to say both, 'Yes,' as well as, 'No more, you will not hurt who and what have been entrusted to me!' In America? But will we, and especially those of us who are willing to go beyond the mere rhetoric of feminism and post-feminism. I would and do. Let's remember to do her-store, their-story, our-story, whatever race-store, whatever religious-story, species-story......as well as the more antiquated but still as valid his-story. Take courage and do so by choice!
'If there is to be any peace it will come through being not having.' + Henry Miller 'Wars are poor chisels for carving out peaceful tomorrows.' + Martin Luther King Jr. 'The search for Truth is the search for God.' + Gandhi
