'Imagine' and 'Give Peace a Chance', I still pray and work, and I still believe is the value of all who have come from the earth. There is no need to speed up the process of returning our friends and or enemies to the same earth.
'Peace is never passive, nor is it ever nonviolent' timothy r gates, 01/12/2007
Peace is never passive, nor is it ever nonviolent. It is a choice to wake up out of my lock-step sleep, following those who tell us that it is necessary to kill our neighbors, following those saying to us, 'You're either with us or against us; part of the solution or part of the problem.' If I choose Peace in the place of Hate I then must stay awake. I must not lockstep behind my President or any who oppose him with their own hatred. Remember, the leaders who demand our children to be killed and to kill, who choose to perpetuate the culture of death are our neighbors too. If I choose Peace I will affirm my neighbor's innate beauty and worth. Peace is never passive, nor is it ever nonviolent. Please, I pray, I beg all to say, 'No, I will kill no more in your war. I will no longer kill another's daughter, son, brother, sister, mother, father, neighbor.' War is killing by the responders and murder by the perpetuators; the responder responds to the murderer and then they only kill. Whose father's father, mother's mother murdered another's son's son, daughter's daughter? Whose hand shed the blood of another the first time, and who was the first to defend their life or that of a beloved by killing the one who murdered them? Why does it matter? The only question that matters after the first is when will it stop? Who will have the courage of Peace and refuse to kill, murder or hate another who shares the same breath?
Please write our President, your Prime Minister, Sovereign, Despot, Royalty of whatever sort. Please tell them not to kill another person, not to allow another one of our children to be killed. Peace is never passive, nor is it ever nonviolent. It is a choice to be awake, to remember that the breath that we take is the same one that our enemy takes. It is a choice to be violent and aggressive with our own passivity. It is a choice to say, 'No!' to those who require our children to kill and to be killed. It is a choice to say, 'Yes!' to life shared with our neighbors from wherever. It may also be a choice to lay down our own life without the bloodshed of others until their leaders and our leaders become tired of murdering the innocent. Peace is never passive, nor is it ever nonviolent.
