Listening to : Juliette and the Licks - So amazing
Lets keep blogging - at least for a while. Those SG members are lurking to read some facts or stories from me. I will tell em just boring stories the way Abe Simpson does. Hope that will keep em from reading at all!
So I went to this party yesterday. I knew this wasn't a good idea before, and it wasn't. Do you know these moments when you desperately wish that an atomic bomb would explode right in the middle of the room right now? I had some of these moments. It was the 18th birthday of a girl from the ski-team whose trainer I am. But its not just a trainer-athlete relationship, were also friends. But of course I barely knew anyone there except her, her boyfriend (also a member of the team) and another girl (an ex-member). Oh yeah: And the parents. So I spent most of the evening talking with the parents. That was kinda okay but its far from the any definition of "a good party" I could offer.
Also they had terrible music - only the DJ-ing was worse. Skipping tracks, stopping in the middle of the songs and a weird mixture of all styles. I might have a terrible taste in music but I would be better DJ than whoever was managing the songs. And they had one this fog-machines in the party-room. I hate these things! They smell bad. They turn the air into an unbreathable gas (even worse than cigarette smoke) and the fog ruins almost any mood. Ive barely seen a good light set up working with fog. These things should be banned!
The only time I got to talk to Laura was when I left and said goodbye and we went outside where she showed me her new car. I like her, but I wouldnt have missed anything if I would have skipped the party.
Maybe I should have gone to see the MDC show at the Sonic Ballroom or went to see Tomte at the Essen Original festival? Who knows. I have the feeling that I would have enjoyed a few songs at these concerts, while there was no moment I really enjoyed yesterday.
Maybe today will be more fun. First Ill drive my father to Dsseldorf airport and tonight there is a demonstration in Cologne and also a few bands will play. One of em is yours truly favorite grindcore band: World Downfall. (I might add that its the only grindcore band I listen to!) For more info about the demonstration and the show follow this link.
