Camden Markets.

I've just signed this petition - http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/camdenmarket/

And sent this to the PM.

Dear Mr Prime Minister,

Ever since I was a child, my family have talked to me about the wonderful things they remember about growing up in London. My favourites were the ones about the Camden markets and how much history and culture have risen from there. Which is why I was so deeply saddened to hear about the proposal to tear down the markets in favour of a shopping centre.
Mr Prime Minister, surely there are enough of these place around the country that you don't have to destroy such a wonderful environment such as the markets. It may not be an ideal habitat for yourself but hundreds and hundreds of people of all ages consider this to be there home. They feel comfortable, safe and accepted here. They can find clothes, people and music, which they belong with.

If this goes ahead, where can will we go to find what we need to be ourselves? Where will the individuality and beauty come from?

I visited there in late 2005 and felt so at peace and home within the markets. The people and the atmosphere made me feel I was experiencing a piece of history and it broke my heart to have to come home and leave the place. There's a magical like feeling in the air for people who can appreciate it. By knocking it all down, I'm certain a wonderful and important part of London's history and culture will be forgotten.

Please, please reconsider this idea and let the freaks have their playground. We don't ask for much.

Thankyou for your time.

Yours Sincerely

Bonnie McCrossan
