That's one of my all-time favorite music lyrics. Neil and Skynyrd were actually good friends though. Neil actually wrote this song for Lynyrd Skynyrd to record, but the plane wreck happened before they got the chance...
Neil's Bass player (Billy Talbot) is actually wearing one of those Lynyrd Skynyrd whisky bottle t-shirts in that video. And in your Freebird video, Ronnie Van Zant is wearing a shirt with the cover for Neil Young's Tonight's The Night album on it.
