I love and I hate mail order. Got a new phone that is awesome from one company for my telecommuting and long phone conferences. Then from another company, I got a camera, but the compact flash card and battery charger weren't in the box but they charged me and invoice said they were in thtere and they weren't supposed to charge me shipping, but they did. Bastards. I will have to battle them now. Ugh.
My boots got stretched from Fleuvog and are on their way back to me. I can't wait. I got three more pairs. It is an addition. I can't afford them.
I also ordered a new TV and a new dick (ok three). I am on a little shopping frenzy. I need to do my taxes and pay for all of this! I want to buy a new chair too. I so shouldn't be doing this right now. But....whatever.
Okay, so I have an interview Tomorrow for a job in Vancouver, WA with my agency (there's no place like home). A lateral position. Someone I know is on the interview panel. Good chances there. Then next Tuesday I have another interview with my agency for a promotion opportunity here in DC another good position for which I am uniquely qualified - but it was recruited all sources - so who knows. I applied today for another position in Oregon (home again) also lateral. I don't think they will consider me b/c I don't have "field" experience - I do - but not w/this agency - and they can't seem to translate it well. The head honcho doesn't really want to hire me. I suspect b/c I have a lot more education than he can understand. So who cares. It closed today so we'll see. There are so many jobs coming open - 70% retirement in 4 more years - that is a lot of positions.
Don't know what I'd do if I got an offer for the lateral home and the promotion here. I hate it here, but the promotion is good for career and I love my house here - it is just getting the way I like it and I finally have friends here. And a deep dicking fucking g/f. I love it back home in the PNW though and I could finish degree and teach again at PSU - and I could always buy what I like and the cost of living is cheaper anyway. Then there is that volcano thing. Shit. I also have health problems here - but I don't in the PNW. But, I can fly anywhere cheap out here. I'd be the single "national expert" out here and just schmo out there. But, I like the outdoors there, not here. FUCK ME. Career or living? It's about a $30K salary difference - them ain't small taters either! But I need it here! It is so friggin expensive and someday I have to pay back those student loans, I suspect! LOL
Guess I should worry if I actually get offers, eh? But eventually I will. I keep applying! There are LOTS of openings! All over!
