So we have a Liberal minority...Well, it's better than a majority. Mike Chong (Conservative) won my region and I don't like that very much. I voted New Democrats this year because I didnt want to play part in strategic voting. Not supporting the Liberals, but they are definitely the lesser or two evils. Whats that saying? Better the Devil you know than the one you dont. Something like that. Three things were surprising in this election...how BC didnt swing the vote (sure 22 seats is a lot), how the Duceppe and the BQ took Quebec by 3.33 times the votes that were cast for the Liberal runner up and finally how Jack Layton took Toronto-Danforth. Wow. When you look at the results, there is such a clear division in popularity within our nation...If you exclude Quebec, from Ontario all the way to the east coast, its nothing but red; but if you head west, you wont find anything but blue. So yeah, I guess we do owe it to BC for keeping it a minority.

So what does that mean? If Martin wants his liberals to govern, hell need 20 MPs to support him. Buuuut...NDP only won 19 seats. I guess hell have to try getting one more from an independent or from the BQ, fat chance. Plus, Jack Layton says he wants proportional representation to be instated if there is to be support from his party to the Liberals. I guess hes got more power than he thinks, right now. Still, only 60% of eligible voters exercised their right.

Enough of that. Im feeling better, the weather is great and...wait, whats that? No, I dont have a day off for Canada Day. Thats what happens when you work with family. If I wanted a day off, Id have to be very sick or have something planned that would conflict with work hours. In turn, that means that I would have to wake within my normal time frame and find something to do at 7:00am. Although, I do have half of Friday off to get my tattoo done. But even that was almost too poor an excuse! I had to say that it was the only time he had open in nearly a month. Shhh, dont tell.

So I hear that getting the inside of my bicep tattooed is going to feel like Im being cut with a hot knife. Meh. I handle pain very well, so Im not worried. As long as Im allowed to bring some music in, Beck will soothe me if things get out of hand. Related in a sense, apparently Ive got some sort of bad-boy complex going (says my mom). Buying a snake, getting my tattoo, going to burlesque shows and lately, I have been pushing my amp to about 4-5; just enough so the neighbours across the pond can hear me. She thinks I need a new hobby, like...a girlfriend. I told her that was almost rude to say, but she wants me to spend my time with someone who will be an outlet of creativity instead. Im pretty sure she was beating around the bush about fornication.

I hope the weather is like this when I decide to take my time off. Ive got some small things planned like the zoo, casino Niagara, a few days at our cottage in Sauble Beach and of course my trip back to Halifax for a week-ish.
