Today is going to be a fastidious day. Its already started perfectly. Let me tell you about it so far...
Ever seen Pay it Forward? Well, lately when I go to Tim Hortons in the morning, Ive been paying for the person behind me. I mean, I dont let it get out of hand. If they have a total over $10 (which is so rare), Ill leave whatever I have left in my change compartment. The two main ladies that work the window are very nice to me and always saying how sweet I am, blah blah blah...Anyway, I was curious as to what peoples reaction was when theyd drive up to find that they dont need to pay. Theyve told me that its basically two main reactions; if its a female below the age of 30, they sigh and think Im hitting on them and most others they just ask Why? Today, however, was a magical day in the drive-thru. First off, they knew it was me ordering so they used my name, which I like. Second, I drove up to find out that yesterday; the person I paid for had left $3.19 to cover my daily coffee and bagel! Ive been doing this everyday for over a month now and its the first time its come around.
I started off work with a meeting. This long-winded fellow named Gordon Bailey from Triumph Tool Inc. in Guelph (like you care) came to talk to me about skimmers and coalescence systems for our coolant. Im not exaggerating when I say that he used the word methodology over two dozen times in the course of two hours. He tried to make a lot of jokes to loosen me up, but Im a real hard ass in meetings. Bad segues with jokes too, like;
So this fella is having car troubles downtown, when some grubby-Gus (homeless) asks, Whats the problem, lad?

Then he went right into talking about how Id be pissed and broke if I didnt do something about the tramp oil sitting atop the coolant basins in our machines. The thing is, I had already done all of the research. I just wanted a fucking quote and estimated delivery date. Im not one to turn down some early morning entertainment, though.
Mclusky, tonight. Should be a good time, alone. I kind of wish (ok, I pray) that my friends would come to shows with me. But again, I dont want them to come for my sake, but for genuine interest in a band theyve never heard of. I never ask for gas money and Id likely buy their ticket, too. How do you make new friends this late in the game, though? Most of my new friends come from mutual ties, so they have the same dead-beat characteristics...Meh.
My Mix CD for the 4th Annual Capohedz Mix Trade is now complete. Including a colour liner note and flow that will make your knees weak. Coming in at an astounding 79:36 with 19 tracks. I can pack a mix, alright. Heres the line up:

Our mix trade goes down this weekend. All 15 of us are meeting, having a potluck and switching up. We do ours a little different than most trades...Were most people just put the mix on the table and grab a random one, we make 14 copies of our mix and you leave with 14 completely different mix CDs. Its a little more expensive, but very rewarding. Im expecting a lot of house / dub-heavy / reggae / underground hip-hop and old school rap again this year. Also a fair amount of emo and hardcore; but its nice to hear what everyones been into over the past year and a very good time to catch up.
Ive got a date tonight.
