aloha from the big island.
after three weeks of biz-nez travel to the district and then to vegas for work shit and a then finals for school i am at long last in the destination of my long awaited vacation. my sister and i flew into kona last night and the chill switch has been set to MAXIMUM.
i don't get to see my baby sister (she's actually old enough to buy her own drinks) very often because i slum it in the san pornando valley and she's in NY completing her undergrad. so its really sweet that we can spend the next few days together.
i didn't waste any time unpacking my boards and hitting up banyans, the premier surf spot on the kona coast this morning. conditions were poor but i had the entire reef to myself, something that nevereverevereverever happens in the megacrowded breaks of southern california. of course, i managed to slice my feet to ribbons on the sharp coral. looks like i'll be rocking duct tape bandages on my tender dogs for the rest of my stint here.
