jet lag aside, its damn good to be back in LA after spending the last week in DC. after doing the lobby thing on the hill, i was able to relax for an extended weekend, playing golf with my dad (how the hell did he beat me both times?!??), going shopping with my mom (she got me a razor sharp suit), and hanging out with my friends. after several failed attempts in years past, i found that it is in fact possible to get a good mojito in DC. so there is hope for our nation's capitol.
i also checked out an amazing exhibit of douglas gordon's work at the hirschhorn museum for the 24 hours of psycho in which the original anthony perkins movie was slowly played over 24 hours. sponsored by leonard nimoy aka mr. spock, it struck me as terribly ironic that i went to DC to see an art exhibit that was brought to the hirschhorn by the museum of contemporary art in LA. it was kind of hard to get a feel for the continuity of the exhibits but it was a different type of cerebral stimulation that challenged my perception.
note to self: go to more museums
jacked: city of god should've won an oscar for editing or cinematographymaphone
hungry: the belly is telling me to get naan and sag paneer
