PUBLISHER LARRY FLYNT AND DIRECTOR JOHN LESLIE TO KICK-OFF 2004 AVN ADULT ENTERTAINMENT EXPO
FIRST-EVER OPENING BUSINESS SESSION TO FEATURE INDUSTRY STALWARTS
ENCINO, CALIFORNIA (November 17, 2003) The 2004 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo will commence with a first-ever Opening Business Session, a panel discussion on the Power, Trends, and Challenges of Adult Entertainment, show organizers announced today. Headlining the panel is Hustler magazine founder and publisher Larry Flynt, award-winning adult director John Leslie, several key retailers and moderator Tim Connelly, publisher and editor-in-chief of Adult Video News (AVN). The session is scheduled for Thursday, January 8th from 9:30 11:00 a.m at the Bellini Rooms of the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The AVN Adult Entertainment Expo is sponsored overall by AVN and is presented by Home Entertainment Events (HEE).
It is an honor to have this distinguished panel of participants, said Carrie Dieterich, spokesperson for HEE. The Opening Business Session not only focuses on the business aspects of this years Expo but also emphasizes the power and sophistication of the adult industry.
Larry Flynt has gone from an owner of strip clubs, to the head of the Hustler magazine publishing empire, to outspoken First Amendment advocate, and most recently, California gubernatorial candidate. His views on the power of the adult industry and the challenges it faces today will be of key interest to attendees. John Leslie was one of the first men in adult entertainment to make the transition from performer to director. His experience from 25 years in the industry will provide perspective on how the industry has changed, current trends, and the path to the future.
Rounding out the panel will be key retailers including Scott Herman of Video Xcitement in Pennsylvania, Vanessa Keegan, adult product buyer for TLA Video, and Christian Mann, president of Video Team, an adult product supplier.
Exhibits at the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo will be open Thursday, January 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, January 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, January 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, January 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The show is open to trade only until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and until noon on Saturday.
Prior to December 16, 2003, trade registration for the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo will cost $40 for VSDA members and $60 for non-members. Following the December 16 deadline, trade registration will cost $60 for VSDA members and $80 for non-members. Trade registration may be completed online at http://www.adult-expo.com or over the phone at 1-888-421-1107, 8 a.m.-7 p.m. CST Monday-Friday.
