new crib, new car, same old me.
i sure as hell am glad that this month is over. it seems like i've been running my ass ragged since my car was stolen at the end of august. but now i'm reasonably settled in the new apartment. not only is the new digs a bigger space but its also a whole lot nicer than the old pad with hardly any noticable road noise. it sure is nice not having your windows rattled by tractor trailers and audibly overzealous harley-davidson owners. i'm pretty much in the same neighborhood but unfortunately, walking to the hollywood bowl doesn't seem quite possible. on the flip side, parking is plentiful so y'all are welcome to visit!
the new ride is seriously bad ass. sporting horsepower in the two hundred and twenty odd range and all wheel drive makes for a seriously exhillarating adventure --pardon me while i scratch myself-- every time i climb behind the wheel. i find myself gripped by a juvenile urge to modify my car with a cat-back exhaust, short shifter, blow off pressure release valves, up pipes and down pipes, carbon fiber pulleys, platinum wire ignition kits, and a sub-zero intercooler. maybe i'm really mature for my age and i'm hitting my mid-life crises early. yeah, that's the ticket. besides, there's more pressing things to be done like tinting my windows and getting a better sound system in there.
i'm thinking that a trip to vegas this weekend may be in order. all this "being responsible" crap that i had to do to deal with my auto insurance, packing and moving, financial crap to take care of the new ride, changing mailing adresses and utility billing cycles this and pro-rated that has got me in the mood for some irresponsible debauchery. and a dose of the good old ultraviolence would set me up nicely. time to get creative and try to cook up a scheme to get my office to pay for a weekend hop to las vegas.

wooowooo!
good luck with the vegas trip.
i've never been there, but it sure does sound like a place to escape for a while! i don't think i'll ever go. i have a hard enough time controlling myself here in nyc.
