the last photo of a series from poland... and yes, those are bottles of beer that the dude is carrying.
my boy bryan came down from vegas on friday to shoot some paint and gripe about how damn hot it is in los angeles. paintballing on saturday kicked some serious ass, bryan and i are pretty much unstoppable once we find our groove. case in point, we won a capture the flag scenario when there were about 70 people on the field (2 teams of 35). almost as good as getting to hang the flag was after the game when players asked who got the flag, people would turn and point and me and bryan. you know, just so that they can match a face to the boot that kicked their asses.
the day was cut short because of some huge brawl that broke out in another part of the park. the place where we play paintball is a huge facility with bmx and skate parks, batting cages, tennis and basketball courts, a bunch of different shit. there was some sort of sk8/bmx thing going on with bands and beer and something started to get out of hand. it was weird because from the paintball fields we could hear all these sirens and the same helicopter kept circling over head. the park was forced to close so as after we packed up our gear, we exited and saw that the snack bar area was torn up and there was a fair amount of blood on the ground. as we left the park there were like a dozen sherrif's dept. cruisers outside and a TON of cops. its too bad that things had to end a bit earlier than they did but it was about time to eat red meat and boast of our dominance over cold beer and korean vodka. ahhh good times...
last nite i caught a great act at the hollywood bowl, a tribute band that featured yerba buena, blackalicious, meshell ndegeocello, and money mark. they were pretty good but the headliner blew me away. india.arie was simply a gift from heaven. her singing was so sweet that i almost forgot the sour taste of having to go to work the next day.
that thing that makes most other things possible (or at least provides the funds that allows me to do fun shit) is beating me up. i just need to survive the next two weeks and things should be alright.
