i've been wearing my publicity hat in the office lately so i've been spinning all kinds of bullshit and my phone headset has created semi-permanent dent in the top of my head. and of course, the people i talk to are all about calling me "sweetheart" and "baby" while i juggle phone calls, push buttons, and try to remember just who i'm talking to. it's all pretty taxing on the ol' melon since my primary objective once yabba dabba doo time rolls around is to get home and fire up the vaporizer. but every now and then this dog gets a bone tossed his way. actually, if there's going to be any bone tossing, i'd like mine to get tossed in the direction of the hotties in the picture above, the latin girlband soluna. right now it looks like i'll be doing some stuff with them and their "people" when i go to vegas at the end of this month. i wonder if they'll be impressed with my mastery of gerardo's "rico suave?"
on sunday nite i caught a great show at the hollywood bowl that featured international superstar dj paul oakenfold. i'm not really into progressive house/trance but i was really impressed with the set that oakenfold put together. the bowl isn't exactly a dj-friendly setting because of it's size but oakenfold hit a lot of good notes with his plate selection, visuals, and incorporation of live vocals and instruments. the finale was fuckin dope, he had the previous act, traditional korean drummers, close shit with the music out as he spun his last record. for a review from the los angeles times, click here.
