I don't know how staff comes about choosing the featured girls on SG but I see that I am on there which is really nice. They have always been really great to me, which is one of the reasons I love it here so much.
So I'm feeling better about chopping down my purple Clematis after reading more on the plant. Usually you can prune back to 6 to 10" from the ground every winter....I just happened to do it at the height of its bloom.
I got up this morning and weeded a huge section of overgrown garden that was mostly just really long wheat grass. I have lots of room to plant but first now I need to till the ground a lot more and fertilize. I think I should be able to get some seeds in the ground starting tomorrow. I'm having a late start this year but I wanted to wait to see what was already growing in my yard before tearing things out.
I watched the movie The World's Fastest Indian last night. It's a great movie, based on a true story about an old man and his really fast motorcycle. Anthony Hopkins stars in it and he really reminds me of how my grandpa was...you should watch it.
Also, I just finished reading Middlesex by Jefferey Eugenides. I loved that book, I could hardly put it down. It is the winner of the Pullitzer prize and it is easy to see why.
Out new kittens have been named Rascal and Salvador Dali (identical moustaches) and are loving their new home. It's one big happy family again.

I've heard of Middlesex but I haven't heard much about it, what is it about?
