Oh no, I just killed my purple flowering Clematis!
I was trying to clear some space to make a garden. I cut down these old dead branches that I thought were left over from last season and then I noticed my beautiful plant withering and dying and realized what I had done. My dad is a landscaper so I called him and told him what I did. He laughed and felt my pain
He told me that some Clematis plants need to be cut back every year anyway so not to worry, I didn't kill it. I just seriously pruned it at the height of its bloom. What a bummer. I have planted some vegetables in the parts of my yard I have cleared. So far, tomatoes, pumpkins, okra, squash and lots of herbs. I need to clear much more space to plant the rest but I don't mind it with the cats running around and a hose to cool me down.

That's cool you guys have a garden. We have some vegetables in planters on our 2nd floor deck, but they're not doing so hot. I do have a killer iris that I up rooted from a vacant lot next door and planted in a home made planter in our backyard that is rocking!!

Does it make me a bad person if I think pics of you cooling yourself down with the hose would be hella-hot?
