Today was camp staff orientation. So many cute younger counselors... would it be wrong for me to sweet talk one of the 17 year old junior counselors into something naughty after camp? I think not.

Meanwhile, I have decided that I need to shut my mouth for a little while in regards to political issues. I am just way too angry and aggressive about the...

Smile but half the fun in life is making people angry with political issues.

Yay for camp. Yay for temtation. and..Ya for opinionated people who exress themselves at every turn.

Do what makes you happy. Let you heart heal and harden so things won't bother you so much. I'm trying. It's fine to hit on little kids. I did that for a while. It's fun for a bit. Rock on dude. As far as the politics go, speak your mind and say fuck you to all of the people that are wrong.

Well, I've been hearing everyone talking about their wonderful hot sexy summers and boy am I jealous. The way things are rounding out, it looks like my summer will be more like mosquito-ful days at camp with screaming grimy youngsters. No beach, no more mojitos, and no more sex since the boy will be in Atl. Sounds fabulous. But I can live vicariously, right?

Hmm. Lounging around in your underwear and deprived of sex. Sound like a fun combination.

Always wanted to learn to play the guitar, but never really had an opportunity. Drums were enough, I suppose.

Underwear, SG...sounds good to me. Where do I sign up? smile

I'm back!
Finally my g.d. computer is set up and working, and I'm home in VA, still looking at nekkid girls. Gosh, I feel so scandalous.
Cuba was amazing. The people are so intelligent and creative, the landscape is lush and 3-D bright, and the politics is verrrry interesting. I had such a blast and will post some pics as soon as I get my...

Oh the stress.
I finished my finals just in time for my parents to get here. I thought I would feel so good when I had them done but now I am consumed by all the errors I keep remembering... Apparently I even talked in my sleep last night about the cuban immigration situation...

Now I am moving out of my room. Its really fun...

Ugh. Worked all day in the too-hot sun at my restaraunt, with tons of mini crises involving the umbrellas. They kept falling down and narrowly missing babies/elderly women/ handicapped people, so I would run around and put them all down so the wind couldn't blow them over. THEN, an angry hot person would come yell at me about the lack of shade, because, you know,...

Another day, another final. 1 down, 4 to go.Bleh!

Tonight I think I will take a break from studying and go to Camelli's for some vegan food and people-watching. I love all the strange people in atlanta, it makes me very sad to think I will be going back to VA soon where everyone drives jeeps and knows the local congressman.

However, before I go...

Just got back from seeing my friend Tara perform with the drag kings from Tuesday. They all of course remembered my drunken antics and stupidity, one of them commenting "you were to drunk to say hi, so you greeted me with your hips." Hmmm....
So, another night of booze and dancing when I should be studying. I feel like crawling into bed and sleeping until...

I have a folder in my MP3 directory called "blush" where I hide a few of the more pleasantly cloying Aimee Mann records, Sparks' "Cool Places" (the soundtrack to my first non-party-game-mandated kiss), *both* Fire Inc songs from the "Streets of Fire" Soundtrack (which sort of defy easy disclaimer) and a few other tracks that might threaten my indie cred if they were elsewhere located. You seemed like the appropriate person to confess this to. I feel lighter now.

Oh: I hope you don't feel obliged to out-pedantic me. I am guiltily racing through a new D.H. Lawrence anthology and it has had an unfortunate effect on my porn journal posts.

According to my clothesdryer, 23 more minutes until I blow this town. Have good finals.

i'm an sg in limbo. i am waiting for my set to come out. it should be another month or so. *chomping at the bit*

So last night was a blast, as usual. Everyone from my school was there, including some cute freshman who are "questioning." Perfect.
I wore a really short skirt (I'll put it up in my pics) that drew quite a few comments (from gay guys none the less!), and one of my really butch friends insisted on trying it on, to the horror of her girlfriend....

Never really been a Diana Ross fan, but I'm sure you did fine with the song.

Borges is pretty good. I've always been more a fan of Bathes, Bathleme, Pynchon, Eco, and their literary descendants DeLillo, Wallace, Lyner. Good stuff to try to wrap your head around.

The compliment was well deserved. Really, a smashing pic.

I -for whatever it's worth- tend to believe that, when it comes to your more Falwellian vices (e.g., deliberate mood alteration, assorted lifestyle decisions, and whatever it is, Blush, that you get up to when you are logged on hereabouts) any measure of the enlightenment, compassion, or general healthiness is more usefully focussed on the sinner than it is on the sin. In your case, I have a strong intuition that you've inherited the compassion gene from my side. I think it's safe for us to decide, Blush, that your presence here is (all a karmic factors approximated) a net positive.

Of course, any community that is open to all valid credit card holders won't be without its ickiness or its innocent victims, but I don't have the sense that there is any more of that here than the average high school cafeteria. (Sean might capably argue that there is less, since the SG folks (staff and members alike) make a conscious effort to resonate a certain aesthetic. And to make certain genres of member feel more welcome, and certain less welcome.)

Mind you, I have a dissertation-length answer to your question that is, perhaps, a little less precious, but I think I'm better saving that until you've gotten a few egg nogs in me at the next family holiday.

But I'd very much love to hear your thoughts on the same topic. (And if you sent them via the contact form, your thoughts might get to be a bit less party line than my own.)

PS- I really enjoy reading your profile, as well. Similarities notwithstanding, yours will make a much better movie.

Bless the lord, final papers are done. Now its time for final exams, but not before two days of non-stop partying, er, studying. wink

Today I talked to my ex-boyfriend, always one of my favorite activities. He informed me that he has 3 new girlfriends and will probably be fraternity president again next year. I was so tempted to say, "Thats great sweetie, did I mention...
