Well, it is still autumn on Cape Cod; there have been a few days with early-morning frost but nothing that suggests an oncoming winter (the solstice is just 14 days away). Who could complain in early December about days that reach toward 60 degrees with south winds. Not Me! But changes are coming as they always do.

It looks as though I was premature in expecting winter; it is still late September here on Cape Cod even though the calendar says Thanksgiving is just a week away. If only the mild weather would continue.

I didn't mean to suggest that I was going anywhere, especially into hibernation, but winter is a time when we hunker down, build the fire a little bit higher, wrap the comforter around our shoulders and hope that Spring again comes somewhere down the line.
Winter on Cape Cod is a time of darkness; we don't have streetlights, most homes of non-resident property owners are...

Well, DST has ended and winter is the future. Remember the old guy's advice: that it is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness. I hope I see you in the spring. Love to All.

It seems that lately I've been channeling Peter Finch in "Network."

Enuf is enuf; the Feds should nationalize all the big banks and brokerages for one year, freeze all salaries and awards and start to point out who of them made millions out of their frauds. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac bought those bogus mortgages and bundled them into packages for investors not knowing (?) that the mortgage bankers had falsified all the numbers.
Let's send...

Beware of what's coming, a new revolution. No, not like 1776 in America, more like 1790 in Paris or 1929 in Russia when the Whites and Reds killed millions. This will be about a system that rewards bankers, brokers and congressmen and punishes ordinary people who work their whole lives to make those lives better despite laws that don't benefit them. I'm no alarmist, but...

I take care of my parents: Dad is 95, Mom is 94. Is there anyone out there who would like me to create a site or thread about elder care?
lauretta:
What you do is absolutely great!
My parents are way younger but I want 'em to be sure that, when they'll be getting older, I'll always be there for them - just as much as they did when my brother and I were children and they took good care of us.
After all, it's a natural circle smile
I can't stand how classifies people in "useful" and "useless" for the business, and how the second category is simply left aside as something bothering and unnecessary. We should discover again the importance of having social relationship with the elder ones.

I'm tired and beat.
kraven:
Why were we not friends on here? You were so kind on my new set. Your comment was so nice and I see I am in your faves....which is an honor and made my night. So hope you don't mind I added you as a friend.

I must be getting old but I find myself to be more discriminating and critical in praising photo sets. There was a set this week that shocked me that it was even published. More generally, I don't suffer fools gladly, and those are the people who comment on a set by saying "awesome," "amazing photography."
As a photographer since 1968 (yeah, I know, that was...

Although I am probably one of the biggest pervs on here I rarely comment on a set ..which I am sure does not do much for making friends around these here parts whatever And being a woman that has sets posted here..I know for a fact they are not "perfect" simply because there was very little if any photoshop done AND I am old and irrevelant also..But that being said I was under the impression that SG had strict photo quality requirments ..which makes me suprised every time I come across a set in MR..that looks like I shot it bok and I gotta say that is not a good thing blackeyed
