Some of you may know and others do not but I love my career. It isn't just a job it is a choice that I have trained for and do my best to be good at. I work in the oilfield, which isn't a bunch of big dumb dudes that swing hammers and blow stuff up. Yea I'm big and do swing a sledgehammer like Thor himself but I have to be quick of mind. My reaction time needs to be at a superhuman level because everything I work with can injure maim or kill me. Over the years I've had broken bones torn muscles and chemical burns. But I have also realized that what I do provides energy and resources to our country. I'm proud to be useful to someone. I work out of town for most of the month, which means I'm barely at the house that I pay for. I barely see my dog who is my best friend. I'm happily single because most women I have met cannot handle me being at work for weeks at a time. Although, I would gladly fly her to come see me. Today is Christmas and I spent 16 hours of it working, eating sandwiches for dinner. There is no one for me to hold right now, nor am I able to see my family and friends open gifts. But this doesn't make me sad, it makes me enjoy the time I do spend with them all the more! I was adopted as a kid, I'm use to being alone. But this job has made me realize that I'm not alone because of the amount of texts that I got today was overwhelming! Also, thank you ladies of SG. I may say kind words or like your pics/posts but it is you that have been a true gift these past couple of days. So here's to everyone, have fun do something new and smile!
