Ok

I talk a lot about how everyone in austin knows everyone. Or at least they all know me. At least thats how it seems, for, on a daily basis, I have people who I run into who end up working with a friend of mine or who used to play in a band with an ex of mine or whatever...

So, tonight I go...

I play the part of the hardass pretty well.

When in the midst of singledom, I like to throw around big f-bombs to things like playing the relationship game and fuck situations where you leave yourself open for hurt and people should just piss or get off the pot when it comes to matters of the heart.

And tonight, as I touted myself as my...

I did it.

Karaoke. I draged my butch lesbian friend Courtney and the Eirik I speak of so often. I did "this charming man" and a killer drunk version of "jolene".

We danced to .....fuck. i cant remember the song. but we danced. My arms around his neck. my head on his shoulder. We danced.

4 frozen margaritas later, he walked outside. Courtney, being smart...

You, me, and everyone else who's ever had their heart broken...

While I love a guy who's in touch with himself enough to put words together like, "I'm vulnerable."
And while I respect their not wanting to screw things up...(i feel the same way)

There's GOT to be a way to move forward...if you figure it out, will you let me know?!
(i'm in the same prediciment right now)

He called last night around 10:30.

"It's tuesday. Right?", he asks

"yeah"

"I just woke up. What are you doin."

"Watching tv. Nothing is on though."

We discuss the fact that we thought there was a spurs game on but that its actually on the next night and that we really miss Space Ghost Coast to Coast. We spend 10 minutes trying to figure out...

Goos going. Sounds like fun. Mine on the other hand is awkward. Last weekend was not the good crazy kind of weekend. I don't know. It has been two months, we have hung out half a dozen times. It might just be me but that seems like too short of a time for her to want to tell me the "L" word. And not the good "I like women" "L" word. It also seems too soon for me to be talking about children. Is this a jewish thing? Some crazy biological clock thing? I don't know but although I like her pushing me to grow and change I just think that her agenda is a bit too fast paced for me. Hmmm, I don't know. I want to get married and have kids and all but I don't want to build a relationship just on that. She talked about last night wanting to raise our kids jewish, and I am agnostic and I wouldn't mind her teaching anything she wants it was the idea of discussing all of this now that makes me want to run for the hills. I am going to see her this weekend and we'll talk and see. Ever have something move this fast?
admiral_pants:
There will be much karaoke when I arrive.
Oh, yes.

"Really, Eirik. You HAVE to start getting out more. meeting people. You can't keep to yourself in your house, crying over her forever, ya know"

This is the sort of advice I give over brunch to friends in the deepest, darkest parts of a breakup. I'm of the "shake it off" sort.

He hangs his head, knowing I'm right. He says he's sorry for flaking...

are they frozen?

being frozen may have seperated the gears that mesh together to make them move. so they may be moving only that slight bit on the merit of the gears just rolling against each other.

So, date rundown.

Pre-movie chit chat was good. He didnt even mind too much when I called my friend, a Saints fan, and broke the news to Wayne that the Saints beat the Eagles (his team).

Armrest stayed up.

He offered to pay. I convinced him to go splitsies with me instead.

Walked me to my car.

Hug, kiss on the cheek.

End.

But I'm...

So, I'd written off my mechanic guy. I sent him one last text message sunday after rehersals to let him know what happened with the girl I posted about. I got a txt back that said "congr". Is that even english?

He never replied to indicate he got my "i like you" text.

So, I do what I always do. I bitch and moan and...

I like Tom Waits, but only when he's drowning puppies.
holliday:
LOL...first of all...don't write anyone off due to text messaging...especially a mechanic! smile

As for Waits? I admit, I don't know much of his stuff.
But look, I like a dude that doesn't like Shinedown...what can I do?

(insist our next road trip, i drive, and force him to listen to it! drivers choice and all, right?) smile

If there is anything good that can come from Burlesque drama, its that it makes boy drama pale in comparison.

So, a couple weeks back, I posted a journal entry about some issues with one of the girls in the troop.

Today was our first rehersal after the break.

She never called back to talk to me.

Well, the first half hour of what should...

It is onto the people who are honest and trustworthy that those who are not project their own deep inner guilt that they can't ever admit to themselves (or anyone else for that matter). You were her projection screen. She could not even take responsibility for quitting, she had to project that responsibility onto you too.

its kindof a compliment in a weirdass psycho way.
inlikeflynn:
I'm in with doodlebug on this one.

"I dont need anything from you so I'm going to take my stuff and just know that its YOU who kicked me out and that I didn't quit"

sounds like a mad little temper tantrum. 'mommy, if you don't let me stay up late, I'm gonna run away from home and I'll get hit by a car and die and it'll be all your fault.'

pah.
