One of these days, I am going to have to collect all the stories I have about my dad and put together a book of humorous essays about the man.
I spoke to him on the phone yesterday. He mentioned he was going to go see my grandmother. My grandmother is a HUGE spurs fan. Somewhere, he got her a photo of Parker, Duncan and Ginobili that is signed by Manu. He got it framed as a gift for her. See, this, and jack daniels are the kinds of gifts you get for my grandma.
After telling me about the gift, he tells me a story about when he went to visit my grandma, who was in the hospital at the time. He had found a Spurs program somewhere. Knowing my dad? It was in the trash. My dad. King of the dumpster divers.
So, and I dont know WHY he'd do this, but he forged Manu Ginobili's signature on the program.
"To Frances, I hope you get well soon. Manu #20"
"I even spelled some of the words wrong, ya know, since he's not from America", my dad tells me.

My mother gave my father's father a dictaphone years back and told him to tell his stories. And he did. One of the best gifts she and he have ever given the family.
