another lost weekend. thursday night's session wasn't one of the best. the bar clearly didn't really want a dj and had no promotions whatsoever, almost no customers except the bunch of noisy drunken scruffs we brung with us. and they kept telling us to turn it down, do this, do that... enforced a cut off time and all teh things that basically let me know that we won't be welcome back. shame, they had a half-decent soundsystem too. still, we're back at the legion in a fortnight and that's one of east london's best little venues. friday night was bangface. if you live in london and like nasty dance music then bangface is a must. this month was cassetteboy's cut and paste ridiculousness, shut up and dance playing old school hardcore, break, drumnbass and jungle, and then kid 606's fucking ace breakcore madness. jesus fuck. even though it wasn't the kid's best set i've seen him do it still rocked so fucking much! then after sleeping all day saturday we wandered down to brixton for the relaunch of people's reublic of disco, the revolutionary club, where everyone brings a couple of records with them and the djs play them at random. excellent night and well recommended, especially as i know fuckloads of people who go down! www.peoplesrepublicofdis.co.uk innit. did a little too much this weekend though, so my serotonin levels are gonna be fucked. gotta take it easy for a bit i reckon. should be a quiet week and hopefully some work will come along before the money situation gets too chronic. hope everyone is well. ttfn!
