I am torn with how to handle a situation that could potentially be life altering for all parties involved.
One option, be the nice guy and let things play out how they are and hope that things don't end catastrophically. My concern with this is that I don't believe in god or luck or leaving things to fate. I believe you should take hold of your life and own it.
Another, try to get the person who doesn't know they have the control to see what will happen if they do nothing. I have dropped hints about what the future will hold for them and even asked what they want the end result to be to see if they have even thought about it. The problem is, this person tends to drift through life and they don't realize how many people's lives they hold in their hand.
The final option I see is tough love. Take the initiative and throw all of the problems in their face. At this point though, this feels like a combination of martyrdom and monster-dom as I would be taking all of the weight of the destruction on my shoulders at my own doing.
Any guidance on this would be great.
