yea,so....i had another case of the murphy's law yesterday.
i wake up at 5:15am to get ready for work not realizing i am already 15 minutes behind schedule,i stop for a dump before i leave...i wipe and finally notice i am late...wicked.
so i finally get on the road(my job is about an hour away)and as i am driving on the jersey turnpike my car makes this wierd noise...it gets louder and louder til WHAM!it just stops operating(mind you i am going about 70 mph) i get control of the car and pull over to the shoulder..next to the fast lane..tight.
open the hood to see whats the problem,i have no fuckin idea what to
look at cuz i never went to mechanics school.i get back in the car to see if it will start...negative,it doesn't want to turn over...fantastic.
call the turnpike authority to get someone sent out to get me and the car,i wait about an hour with cars zipping by at 80-90 mph...on point.
tow truck finally comes and he tells me he can bring me to the nearest mechanic for 95 bucks...i haven't a dime on me and my card is at home,so the car has to be brought over to there garage til i can come up with the loot...terrific.
finally get my mom to drive about an hour to come grab me and bring some loot with her so i can retrieve my car and get it towed to a mechanic..go to the cashier and she tells me its $75 (fuckin tow guy was tryin to scam me)...fabulous.
i get it towed to a mechanic (for free mind you)and i leave it there to see what has happened...guy tells me its gonna be about 5-6 hrs before they are done,i go home and wait for there call...sweet.
so the guy calls me about 3-4 pm and informs me that my timing belt is shot and sinci i have an interference engine it is gonna cost me 540 smackers to fix AND even after they fix it there is no guarantee that it will run cuz they still need to see what the extent of the damage is...incredible.
the mechanic calls me back about 5-5:30 to kindly break the news that my engine is seized and there is nothing they or most any mechanic will be able to do for it short of replacing the engine,and they are only gonna charge me $85 dollars for dissassembly of the timing belt.......farblifficastic (don't ask)
all in all another case of the best day ever!!
