Waiting for the arrival of supposed "catastrophic" hurricane Irene. SO much hype and bullshit. But I guess that is the nature of journalism today. BEWARE!
Forgive me my recent post about a blue-sky road trip to the Blue Ridge. It just ain't gonna happen. Since I'm the primary caregiver for my parents, anything longer than a day-trip or an overnighter just isn't in the cards.
I'm thinking about a road trip from Cape Cod to the Blue Ridge area to find some local bluegrass music Mid-Sept. I don't want to travel alone; anyone interested? First major stop from Cape Cod (I think) would be Roanoke, then on to the Blue Ridge of NC. Share expenses though I'd cover all auto costs. Maybe a mix of B&B and camping.
I'm going to write to Obama and I'll post it here too. Working people like you and me have been quiet and accommodating for too long. I think it is time to tell the President to go for broke, challenge those Asshole Republicans who cater only to rich folks and tell some Truths.
I fear for the future of America. I won't be here when it arrives, but I suspect it will be more like the French Revolution than the American Revolution. Taking care of my parents is a grind, it's wearing me out, pounding me down to nothing. My advice to all you who are younger (and who isn't?), kill your parents when they turn 70 and avoid the burden that comes with ever-increasing years (both you and them).
