Hmm,,,reacquainted myself with a much-loved album today. One I literally hadn't heard in years....Counting Crows - August and Everything After. It's such a nice album. I've never bothered with any of their music after that one though. And I wouldn't call myself a fan, but it's definately a must have album. Here are some lyrics....

*and everytime she sneezes I believe it's love* (Anna Begins)...

I hope you had a good weekend. What short film did you watch? I've been trying to upload some photos of Dracula's Ball, but none of them came out well. It was too dark and my camera's flash couldn't handle it. So, how are things going with your job? Bye for now! xx smile

Don't you hate it when you are SOOO incredibly angry or upset or whatever that you don't even KNOW where to start ranting? I'm so like mad slash frown right now that I can't even begin to explain why. Yeehaa irrationality!! I guess I am just going to have to sit here and wait till I can form proper sentences in my head before trying to type...

I know how you feel. They pull crap like that in my company all the time. We don't even get pay raises that often. I've gotten one in 3 years and it was a 3% increase. We all need new jobs!! The new owner of our company has announced that they don't have a pension plan or sick time. Its just Paid Time Off which is essentially your vacation time that will be used as sick time. I get 23 days total, but before this I got 20 days vacation, 3 personal days, and sick time was seperate. mad I guess they screw you over no matter where you are! I thought America was the worst...so much for my plan to flee the country for better working conditions! skull

I hope you have a great weekend biggrin I guess there's no place where work doesn't suck. Its just so sad that the worst people get the most reward and the best people just end up with more work! Hopefully you'll get a decent raise. I don't have much planned for the weekend. We're just going to go to a used book store, go food shopping, and I believe some rum and cola should be in the picture somewhere. smile

I've gotten so used to being bought and sold that I don't even feel angry or upset about it anymore. That's despite the fact that each owner has been worst than the last. I'm hoping this one isn't too horrible. Time will tell. Its just the norm, one company takes over another all the time. I really wouldn't be surprised to be sold again in another year or two.

I'm glad your coffee date went well. smile I wouldn't mind a frapucinno right now...even though I think Starbucks is evil! skull

I'm in Philadelphia this weekend. I went to Dracula's Ball last night. It was fun even though Unto Ashes cancelled out at the last minute so the first band was an unknown group called Anders Manga. They were ok.

Carfax Abbey was good. The sound system wasn't the best, but they still put on a good show. I'll write more about it in my journal when I get back home tomorrow.

I could use a drink or two...maybe a whiskey sour. I didn't drink at the Ball so I wouldn't end up on the endless line for the bathroom. Besides public restrooms make we want to puke most of the time.

I bought around 17 new CDs this weekend. Luckily most of them are used. Oh and I won a CD at the Ball. It would be nice except that I already have it: Corvus Corax (Best of album).

You'll have to give me the web address for the radio show...sounds good, I'd love to have someone to play all the songs I like kiss Sometimes I think I should start my own radio show. All of the stations around me only play crap.

Ta for now! Talk to you soon smile

um random, or not so random, song lyrics....

".. And I know the night is fading
And I know the time's gonna fly
And I'm never gonna tell you everything I gotta tell you
But I know I gotta give it a try

And I know the roads to riches
And I know the ways to fame
I know all the rules and then I...

Hmmm...I guess it could be the pose, but I stand by my comment smile

I hope you had a good time with no puke that always ruins an evening.

The Morbid Curiosity website is pretty good, not as good as the magazine, but not bad. I *really* want to get the back issues. And I'm still trying to think of a good story to submit. I'm torn between the nose bleed story and one involving a creepy guy following me.. surreal

Oops, blush I missed that entry about Tori. Its too bad she's avoiding New Zealand this time frown I wish I could see her again, but I couldn't get any tickets. They sold out a few minutes after they became available. Oh well, maybe next time!

I've always loved Egyptian and Greek myths, I loved going to museums as a child and looking at all the Egyptian exhibits. Great stuff! I may get more tattoo work done with Egyptian themes. All I need is the money and the time.

I had a Vargo calendar a couple years ago. I thought I saved the pictures, but I can't find them. That's no surprise. My house is a mess confused Oh well, I'll find everything eventually.

The Morbid Curiosity magazine is so good I may buy the back issues. I may also send in a story if I can think of something interesting enough.

I like your pictures smile Did anyone ever tell you that you look a lot like Tori?

meh. I have nothing relevant or interesting to say so I'm going to put lyrics instead.

Here is part of a song I can't stop listening to.

"...You say the word,
You know I will find you
Or if you need some time I don't mind
I don't hold on to the tail of your kite
I'm not like the girls that you've known
But...

Good lyrics, I like that song..Tori's always good smile Yes, I like Siren too..I usually listen to something by Tori every day. Have you ever been to one of her concerts? I went to the one when she turned 40. We sang "Happy Birthday" to her.

Yup, I'm really morbid. I love all the forensic shows, prefering the real ones to the fake ones most of the time, but I will watch CSI and Navy NCIS. I'm reading a great magazine right now, "Morbid Curiosity" I'm not sure if it's available in New Zealand, this is the first time I've seen it in New Jersey. The website is: www.charnel.com/morbidcuriosity.com

I'm glad you didn't get flooded. Its no fun..creates a real mess.

It's good to have a day off. I'll be taking next Tuesday off...we have Monday off as a holiday. Any time away from work is good. Unless you have a really bad stomach virus. Then its not so good.

You like Joseph Vargo's art? I have a tarot deck designed by him. Its mostly just his regular art work with tarot stuff superimposed over it, but its really nice. Its the Gothic Tarot, but be careful if you look for it, there are tons of tarot decks with variations of "Gothic" in their title.

Oh, and I like your new picture...it looks somewhat like the tattoo I have on my chest except that its a scarab beetle with those wings and horns. Good stuff. miao!!

I'm glad you had a great start to the weekend. It serves your neighbors right if they were annoyed by the noise...maybe you should have a party any time they decide to start construction at odd hours of the day. wink

The most exciting thing I did today was get my hair cut. Its now in a very short bob with short bangs. I'm going to dye it next weekend for Dracula's Ball. Actually I'd dye it anyway, but Dracula's Ball is a good excuse.

Oh, speaking of rainbows..it rained today with the sun out and sure enough there was a rainbow (actually two rainbows) in the sky. Pretty cool.
absintheofmalice:
Have you had to deal with any flooding? It only rained one day here, which is good since a lot of rain tends to cause flooding which is just no fun at all. Except to the ducks. They do enjoy swimming in my back yard and down the street.

I don't mind long messages smile

Dracula's Ball is a lot of fun. I get to perve out to my hearts content too. Its one of the best things about it wink You can check out the website: www.draculasball.com Maybe I'll actually dance this time. Last time I found a really good spot by the top of the stairs...very drool worthy so I didn't budge once I was there.

Anyway, I hope you're having a good week so far...... Chao miao!!

Yeah, but that's what I do with my life, I guess.

I saw pictures on the news of houses in NZ floating down the street! Are you doing o.k.? We were flooded about a month and a half a go. It didn't destroy the house but it took out the furnace, hot water heater and the electrical box, and out a crack in the basement wall. frown I realy want to move to Arizona! smile
