OK, FINALLY!! I finally got the new pics up from a few weeks back at the "Carnival of Stars" fantasy / belly dance convention. It's a new convention, only 3 years old but I was a sweet-ass ride!! It was mostly focused on belly dancing this year, though they're trying to get more of the comic book /sci-fi fantasy influence into this to convention as it grows more. I say this with no ego, but when they told my friend and I how inspired, stoked and excited they were for me and my friend to come dressed up as we were, you can only imagine how good it felt, not just for the attention we got and the fact that they want us there next year, but to know that us dressing up has motivated them even MORE to bring in the sci-fi / fantasy into the convention. I imagine years from now, when this whole thing has developed even more, this is going to be one of the bigggest and most innovative events to be a part of, and I CAN"T WAIT to see that happen!!!
One final note to leave with: "This world needs fantasy like a caged animal needs its freedom!" Whatever kind of fantasy you like is up to you, but the bottom line is, it's one of the few things that helps keep our sanity. Without it or some kind of escape, we're free-falling right to our own demise. Take that home with ya'!! Peace!
