Well, just finished my first two weeks at Corner's. My manager says I am doing well and learning fast, but it has been two years since I have had to learn a new job and I still feel slow. I giess I get an unrealistic idea in my head of jumping right iin and fixing everything up nice. I think I am getting the hang of it, but it is just so messed up to begin with that trying to hit the ground running is hard. Learn things, catch up on things behind, and figure out if there is a better way to do them all at the same time. *whew*
Sort of bummed tonight. Don't think I am going to get to spend time or sleep with boi tonight. His mamanger said that his boss(es) don't want him working on Sundays anymore so he had to leave work early today so he could go in tomorrow for a few hours. My manager never said that, so I am going to keep going in on Sundays until she sayd not to, concequently, I am not working. This leads me into the "weekend" frame of mind which is: sleep with boi, wake up late with no alarm, lounge in bed, have nookie, then shower and think about what we want to do. Doesn't look like that is going to pan out. Oh well. There is always laundry to do tomorrow. Yippie!
It is weird working wiht only 8 people, most of whom I really don't work with or talk to much since I am sort of on my own doing my own thing. Rather lonely, especially compared to the 45 people I used to be able to wander around and talk to. *sigh* Miss the Pearlies. Maybe I will stop in tomorrow and say hi. After aforementioned laundry, that is.
The Big E was pretty cool. Wandered aound and watched people, played a couple games, had fair food (including the best damn apple cobbler EVER at the Vermont booth), bought a couple thngs fairly cheaply. I htought we were doing well, spending 6 hours walking around a New England multi-state fair and only buying a hat and belt, when we were heading to meet JM's friend to say good bye when I saw thing Native American jewelry booth. Oops. Haveing just been paid for several weeks of pay and unused vacation time, I technically had it, but I should be saving for moving before the end of the year. So, if you see me sporting a huge silver, turquoise and bear claw bracelet, be sure to admire it extensively and help ease my buyers guilt. *sheepish grin*
Incidently, we will be in the market for a large place, preferable a house with 3-4 bedroom sometime in December. If anyone hears of anything, let me know.
