so I'm driving toward Houston this evening to pick up Grace, and I see an electroni sign over the highway flashing
"Houston shelters full - try San Antonio or Dallas"
That's 5 hours down the road. It's already a good 4 hours to get to Houston from the NO area.
holy crap the magnitude of this thing.
one of my friends just offered their grandmother's (unoccupied) home to a family from NO, and cancelled their vacation for this weekend so they could give the money to the refugees instead.
Everywhere I look around here, people are reaching out to our neighbors to the east.
