I had the wierdest night at work - after almost a year at this warehouse, everything just felt strange and different. Ive been over excited about work over the past week because me and two other people are competing for a promotion. I think Ive been investing a lot too much energy in caring about it - its really not my priority in life to move up in the warehouse industry,though it means more money and a cooler job basically. Im flattered theyre considering me, but I can understand that they might not choose a guy with a mohawk, lip rings, and sliced up arms for a pre-management postion (even though I would kick ass at it tongue ).
Im also leaving to new orleans tomorrow for a few days for my cousins wedding, and that has me a little concerned. I sometimes freak out when my daily routine is altered. Sometimes I dont, but sometimes I do.
If Im doing something with my friends or something thats based around my own desires and concerns, then its not a problem. Its when I go to family functions for a few days at a time that I sometimes find myself really uncomfortable halfway through the trip.... Its being immersed in a world where there are no dreadlocks, no tattoos, no piercings, no black clothing;where there is no dyed hair and no scarification other than my own, that kind of freaks me out. Hopefully all will go well.
I am glad to have a break from work for sure.
they should just give me the job, and fuck those other two guys... Id be better at it, and Im more fun to party with smile

hard times man, just remember as much as it might suck, people really dont understand shit like scarification, and dudes wearing powder. life is all about our differences, and as much as everyone else might seem the same, the fact that you get uncomfortable around them points a bit towards you sheltering yourself

and yeah fuck those other two guys
