Thanks for the advice, hon. Yeah, I don't know. I waffle back and forth between wanting to remain casual friends and just cut them out entirely... Well, they both live in states far away from me, so that's not so bad right there.

I'm looking for food work, daytime though, so it's maily a lot of deli's and prep work, not bad...and I'm trying to milk my student teaching experience for additional options. Those not many good jobs for pirates anymore, it must be the lack of ocean.

it wasn't just you who said that. there are a few people who haven't been involved in the situation enough to make judgments...

he does want to change. that's the problem. he just doesn't believe he can do it, and more, is pissed that i understand what he needs to do and how to do it more than he does, so on those grounds, he refuses to do anything.

and, this is just going to end up like every other relationship i have had. he'll change, and he'll marry or come close to marrying the next person he dates. fuck. i was his first relationship--he was terrified of being put in that position of vulnerability, and so he just didn't. i was an experiment.

a couple years from now, i'll get that phone call i get from all of them. it will be something to the effect of: "you were right about everything. i wish i had listened to you, because i never would have lost you. i don't expect anything to come of this, i just wanted you to know that." and then there might be something about they were so intimidated by me they didn't know how to love me, or that everything they learned about women they learned from me...

hey thanks--PLEASE don't think i enjoy this, it's exactly these phone calls, letters and emails that makes me bitter. it's not worth it, every time, it's just not worth it. i teach them how to be functional human beings, how to overcome funky brain chemistry, how to be happier, and all it gets me is knowing they apply that to their next relationship.

i feel too much. i have no capacity for being casual with people. i can only hope that one day i get burned enough that i become the cruel bitch i have always dreamed of being. or...that i am loved enough it all becomes worth it.
