The dust has cleared, the transition is finally complete and I am finally settling into my new life as a photographer. They were right! It's not easy to be a photographer here in the city, but it probably wouldn't be worth it if it was easy. I've been establishing myself as a fashion photographer here in the city while maintaining portrait, and event work to pay bills. I've been back for about 2 or 3 months now and am excited to see where I will be at the end of the year.
I'm working with two magazines, both are small time, but I plan to grow with them as they grow.
So life as a photographer in Houston is getting exciting! I am working for a very popular fashion photographer in the city to make connections where I can, and how I can, but it's not easy. It still hasn't really felt like work yet. They say when you do what you love you will never work a day in your life. I hope thats true, but doubt it.
