I'm really bothered.
After reading some of the comments on the thread in Current Events called Racial profiling in NJ, I feel like as a black person I'm doomed just for being black. Yes, racial profiling exsists and yes it happens often. But it seems to be sayign to me that "since ur black you fit a profile of people commiting crimes".
My uncle drives a new Lexus. Does that mean he's a drug dealer? Because then how else coudl he afford to do so? He's a 45-year-old CEO. There are skinheads in this country, but does that mean every white male in the country with a bald head is a racist? No it doesn't.
Then they talk about mindset. Until the sniper case down south, you didn't really hear of a lot of black serial killers or what not. With the school shooting, they were white males. Society plays into that mindset with images of black, hispanic, asian, or arabic people in the worse possible light. How often do you hear of the good people to?
I have been profile and that feelign it leaves you with isn't pretty.
