uhhhh, tonight is going to be BAD.
tonight is the night i tell my parents ive found a room to rent and am moving out next week. im 24, and want to be independent and support myself and yes, normal parents would find this extremely appropriate at my age. but not my parents. they are pretty much going to flip a shit. I already mentioned it to my mother and she just walked away. my dad is going to be worse. hes going to yell and make me feel bad for wanting to be on my own, like im ungrateful or abandoning the family. I already have a friends house lined up to go to right after so i dont have to deal with the aftermath. I just wish for once they would give me their love and support for what i feel i have to do for myself.
any suggestions with how to deal with the emotional chaos that is going to ensue???

how ever they take it, just let them have there time, move out and be on with your life. after i moved out, i gave it a few, and just started stopping by home, and it was better then it was before. we were like good friends, like my dad had a new respect for me.
