My friends, these are tragic time for the United States of America. Our current condition, our past, and our future are at stake. The world will remember our actions for all eternity, our children and future generations will ask questions. We need to stop what we are doing, all of us together, and begin to focus on what is a happening around us. We are all responsible to do something besides sitting by and watching events unfold, going from bad to worse to horrific. If you take the time to talk about this with your friends and family it's a start. If you take the time to write a letter to our governent it's a start. Change will not happen over night, and possibly not in our lifetime. However, the actions of our government at home and abroad must STOP NOW! If we do not vocalize our protest of what's happening and make the changes that are needed happen, it never will.

The current tragedy of New Orelans brakes my heart and continues to enrage my soul. This tragedy and the government's response is an outrage, it is prejudice, and it is unforgiveble. I spit on our leaders and their unwillingness to act accordingly and with human dignitiy. They have taken everything from a people who already had nothing, and in the face of the worse national disaster ever to hit America, they have ignored and left to rot what remains of the life blood and soul of this country in so many ways that most of us could never imagine.

Here is a link to an interview with the Mayor of New Orleans Ray Nagin. This is very emotional content. Do not turn a deaf ear to the words you are about to hear. I beg you to do something, anyhting! I'm having a very difficult time dealing with this. New Orleans is my spiritual home and holds a very sacred place in my heart. I cry as I write this, my heart and my soul hurt deeper than I have known. I'm ashamed of our country and the officals who let this happen and have failed to act.

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone effected by the hurricane.

Sincerely,

William Otis Evans Jr.

It's a shame the people of America supported my people first for 9/11 and now for Katrina, but the Govt. of America has dropped the ball on both. I'd have to say, 9/11 was handled much better and it wasn't the entire city, but where's Bin Laden? How long did it take for the Fed Govt to get rollin with the hurricane relief?

I'm sure you're well aware. wink

Keep on
