I suppose now is as good a time as any to start a new journal, and hopefully make some new acquaintances.

this page informs me that I "have no friends. ha ha". what a decidedly unfriendly way to greet a new member. who must I thrash to right this?

hello, lovely suicide girls.

Hi BKittie. The practice here is to post your replies in the commenters journal, rather than in your own (as in LJ), because otherwise people won't know you've responded.

Anyway, welcome. smile

Hi there. I certainly recommend that book if you're interested in the area. Sex and gender studies are fascinating areas, but the battle I highlight in my journal entry (the two positions: does nature matter somewhat, or not at all?) mark out some fairly fraught battle lines. Lots of gender theorists still argue the notion that ALL we are as genders is given to us by society and cultural forces. The book I'm talking about is one of a number trying to bring nature, biology, and evolution back into the picture.

I don't know whether you'd find it interesting but there's a recent group called "The male club" where some of this stuff has been getting thrashed out. (I'm one of the culprits.)

Late here. Goodnight. smile
