I must admit, I have been avoiding the political news lately, which explains the dearth of related links.

so instead I offer more personal news: I casually lamented the absence of a local roller derby league in my regular online journal a few days ago, and the entry was met with an unexpected amount of excitement. so, I think we're actually gonna do it.

I have not skated in years. I have no capital to get anything started and I don't have any knowledge or experience in how we would go about doing it. however, I have access to a fair sized network of fierce, smart, resourceful and really cool local women as well as a determination to get something started which will bring all of us together. so if that won't be enough to do it, hell, I don't know what could.

also: taut thighs, short skirts, and plenty of rough-housing. 'nuff said.
