So I'm imagining this amazing mixtape in my head and I'm thinking about the kind of music I want to put on it. I've been really enamoured by the Gnarls Barkley album, especially one of the song "Smiley Faces" and it makes me wonder. What kind of songs are best suited for a really good mix cd? I used to have standard songs that I would put on a cd. If I was to play the jam or paul weller I'd play a song like Strange town or dropping bombs on the whitehouse, if I was to play single frame I'd play commjet, but what if I played different songs than what are personal favorites. Should a mix be songs you enjoy, or songs that fit a mold or theme?

I really need to hook my other computer back up so I can work on this fictional masterpiece.
