My first day of Toys R Us went off like... gangbusters? I would write a super long entry describing the whole situation, but I'll just write it in haiku form
I show up on time
to find my training buddy
is coming in late
what confusion comes
instead of working the floor
I'm on REGISTER!
I think I did well
for I learned the register
in roughly two hours!
and though I was new
a lot of customers said
I was doing great!
I think Rosalyn
the Woman who trained me thought
I also did well!
Roughly, the day was rocky, I had a lot of pressure, and I was left on a register by myself, and I handled it mostly well. At least as well, if not better than someone who's never used a Toys R Us register before. I know I made a lot of mistakes, and a lot of problems came from my end, but I don't think TrU would hold that against me since it was my first day, and I didn't really get formal training. Hopefully I can work the floor on Friday/Saturday!
