I know how to say "I am crazy" " I am handsome" "I love you" and the words "big sister" and "cow" in Tagalog. I wonder how long it would take me to pick up more conversatoinal tagolog.

I'd say you should see it for free sometime...maybe in a few years. Maybe in a theater showing classic movies. While the remake was shot for shot (mostly), I think there is still some enjoyment you could beat out of that movie.
