Last time I went to the beach, I tried to write the ocean a letter in the sand with my finger. I wanted it to say,

Dear Ocean,
What is the biggest creature that lives in you?
What is the prettiest/coolest/scariest thing you have seen?
Who is the most interesting human being that has travelled in or on you?
Do mermaids exist?

The ocean couldn't answer in words because it did not understand human text. So it whispered to me and said, "I can't answer your questions, but I can swallow up the words. Make them gell and sludge. Irreversible. Like magic. Just a secret for you and me. Promise not to tell. There, and gone."
